General Background:

My initial background is within nursing where I trained as a Registered General Nurse in Aberdeen. I had always been interested in environmental issues and the effects of environmental pollution on human health, as a result I changed career and studied Environmental Science at the University of Stirling. Following completion of my degree I worked for the Scottish Environment Protection Agency as a water and shellfish sampler. After having a career break to have my children I became involved with the Habits Survey’s at the University of Stirling to undertake face-to-face survey’s with the public. Following the completion of that I became more involved with the projects and since help with the planning and producing of the Radiological Habits Survey’s. I am trained to ISO: 17025 in measuring gamma and beta radiation in the field and experience of field sampling and in-situ dosimetry.
